Total: $2.88 PROFIT!

I am a happy camper. ūüôā Walgreens deals will be posted tonight.

Oooh, good trip to Walgreens just now.

I got:
4x Vicks Sinex $5 each
2x Olay body bar two-pack $3.29 on BOGO 50% off

Total $24.94

Used 4x $4/1 Vicks Sinex from the 12/26 P&G insert and 2x $2/1 Olay bar from 12/26 P&G insert.

Paid $4.94 out of pocket and received a $10 RR. Total profit $5.06! And remember, you can use your Walgreens RR at Safeway since they’re manufacturer coupons. This is awesome for me because I only do Walgreens every couple of weeks, but I’m always at Safeway.

Sorry for not having any posts over the weekend! The Christmas party/birthday combo kept me so busy. As such, I’m not going to bother writing out all of the weekly deals for Rite Aid and Walgreens, but will just link you to For the Mommas‘ weekly deals for Rite Aid and to My Frugal Adventures for Walgreens for this week.

Today’s trips were okay, but nothing to write home about.¬† Rite Aid was of course out of stock of most of the stuff I wanted, including more EcoTools, the Disney puzzles and figurines and some more Colgate toothpaste.

I did get three Advil Congestion Reliefs, two (one isn’t shown) Gillette razors, two Wonderful Pistachios and I had enough profit left over to get my daughter a little puppy dog, which she hasn’t put down since we got home.¬† After the dog I still had $1.xx profit, woohoo.

Walgreens was okay, but mostly just because I had to spend my Super Jingle Cash this week and I sort of just tossed together a scenario.

12 Snickers bars

2 Blue Diamond Almonds

2 Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel (ha, banana and grey were the only colours left!)

1 Goody hair ties

1 Activ-On Joint and Muscle

1 Walgreens Energy Booster

2 Christmas cups

2 Sets of two Toy Story and princess paintable figurines

For total cost of $7.¬† I was going to buy the almonds anyway, and there weren’t any huge moneymakers this week.¬† Not bad though!

Both Wags and Rite Aid are having four-day sales starting tomorrow. I highlighted the best deals earlier in the week, but here are a couple of scenarios you could work around.

My Rite Aid Scenario for 12/15

3 Disney Figurines, $0.99, on sale for 25% off.
3 Disney Puzzles, $0.99, on sale for 25% off.
2 Wonderful Pistachios, 2/$5.
2 Frosted MiniWheats, 2/$5
2 Ecotools, $2.99, on sale for BOGO 50% off.
2 Colgate Sensitive, $3.50
2 Rite Aid brand tape, $1.49, on BOGO.
1 Advil Congestion Relief 10 ct, $4.99.
1 Gillette Fusion Manual or Power Razor, $9.49.

Total $41.89

Use 2x $1/1 Wonderful Pistachios from 11/21 SS or $1/1 printable
Use 2x $1.50/1 Frosted MiniWheats printable (no longer available, unfortunately)
Use $2/1 Advil printable coupon
Use $1/1 Advil Video Values coupon
Use 1x $4/1 Gillette Razor

$31.89 oop

And get back:
6x $2 UPR for Disney toys
1x $1 UPR for Pistachios
1x $2 UPR for MiniWheats
1x $5 UPR for Ecotools
2x $3.50 UPR for Colgate
2x $1 UPR for tape
1x $3 UPR for Advil
1x $5 UPR for Gillette

Total profit $4.11

Of course, this is just the deal that I’m doing tomorrow based on my coupons. If you don’t have the MiniWheats¬†coupon or still have the $0.75/1 Colgate coupon or have the Air Wick candle coupons, there are many different¬†deals to be had.

Now, for Walgreens I have 3 of the $5 Super Jingle Cash from last week. I normally don’t mind having extra RR because I can just use them at Safeway as MQs, but the Super Jingle Cash are actually store coupons. They also state only one can be redeemed per transaction, so I need to have three separate transactions to burn through these before Sunday.

My Walgreens Scenario for 12/15

Transaction 1:
1 Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel, $5.99
3 Mars Candy, $1.17
1 Christmas Tumbler, $0.12

$7.28 total.

Use $1/1 Revlon from Bright and Beautiful Guide (available at Cosmetics)
Use $2/3 Mars from 12/5 RP
Use $5 Super Jingle Cash

Pay $0.12 oop

Get back $5 Revlon RR

Transaction 2:
1 Activ-On Joint and Muscle, $7.99
1 Walgreens Energy Booster, $3

$10.99 total

Use $5 Revlon RR
Use $5 Super Jingle Cash

Pay $0.99 oop

Get back $8 Activ-On RR
Get back $3 Energy RR

Transaction 3:
1 Coffee-Mate, $1.50
1 Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel, $5.99
1 Goody Hair Ties, $2
3 Mars Candy, $1.17
2 Toys on BOGO, $6.99
1 Scotch Mailer, $0.39
2 Blue Diamond Almonds, 2/$4

$22.04 total

Use $1/1 Coffee-Mate printable (Like them on Facebook)
Use $1/1 Revlon from Bright and Beautiful Guide
Use $2/3 Mars from 12/5 RP
Use $0.60/2 Blue Diamond Almonds
Use $5 Super Jingle Cash
Use $8 Activ-On RR
USe $3 Energy RR

Pay $1.44 oop

Get back $5 Revlon RR
Get back $2 Goody RR

So, total cost for Walgreens will be $9.44, but only $2.55 out of pocket.

According to For The Mommas, Walgreens has changed the terms on their Super Jingle Cash. Now it will only print if your total is $25 after coupons. I’m not sure what prompted the change, but hopefully they change their mind about it. I have never spent >$25 out of pocket at Walgreens before, so I’d definitely be missing out on this one.

I won’t bother posting my deal scenario for these items since the sale is over tomorrow, but I got 12 packages of Hallmark wrapping paper, four L’Oreal Lash Boosting Mascaras, one Revlon Top Speed nail polish, one Garnier Herbashine and one Playdough play set for $6.99 profit. I also went back later and got three Crayola Pop Art Pixies kits for $0.37 each, normally $9.99. Very happy with Wags today.

Some good deals at Walgreens this coming week!  There is also a mid-week sale going on that starts on Wednesday, 12/15 and goes until Sunday, 12/18.

Most importantly, there is a promotion going on until Christmas where when you spend a certain dollar amount, you receive a register reward that’s only valid the following week.

Spend $25, get $5 RR.
Spend $50, get $10 RR.
Spend $75, get $15 RR.
Spend $100, get $20 RR.

The dollar amount is calculated before sales prices, rewards prices and manufacturer’s or store coupons, which makes it fairly easy to earn.¬† You cannot spend that RR (they’re calling it “Super Jingle Cash”) in a transaction and expect to earn another one in return though.¬† This is called “rolling” your RR, and Walgreens almost never allows it.

On to the deals for the week!

Buy 2 select Hallmark gift cards, tissue wrap or Color Studio wrapping paper and get $2 RR, buy 6 and receive a $5 RR.  Gift cards start at $0.49 (big profit on these) and wrapping paper is $1.99 for a 50 sq ft roll.

Goody hair accessories, 12- or 17-pack Ouchless elastics or 6- to 12-pack bobby pins or barrettes, $2 each.  Receive a $2 RR.  Final price free.

Activ-On Joint and Muscle or Arthritis Pain Relief, 2 oz, $7.99.  Receive an $8 RR.  Final price free.

All toys buy one get one 50% off.

Dr Pepper, A&W, 7up, Sunkist and Hawaiian Punch 2 litres, $0.89 each.

Check out the rest of the ad scan here.

And the four day sale that starts Wednesday, 12/15:

$6.99 toys, buy one get one free.

Mars candy, $0.39.  Buy six and use the $2/3 Mars candy coupon from the 12/5 Red Plum to get them for $0.06 each.  (Note:  You should be able to buy only three and have them adjust the coupon down to the purchase price, but chances are that the clerk might refuse to do this even though it is clearly spelled out in their coupon policy.  If they do this, purchase price will be free.)

Coffeemate Creamer, 16 oz, 2/$3.  You can use two $0.55/1 coupons from the 11/14 RP to get them for $0.95 each.

Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel, $5.99.  Use the $1/1 store coupon from the Everything Bright and Beautiful booklet (available at the cosmetics counter) and receive a $5 RR.  Final price free.

Walgreens Energy Booster $3, receive a $3 RR, final price free.

Check out the rest of the four-day ad here.

Walgreens coupon policy states that you cannot have more manufacturer’s coupons than you have items.¬† Since Register Rewards count as manufacturer’s coupons (MQs), this can pose a problem.¬† For example, if you buy two candy bars and use two coupons, they will not let you use a Register Reward to pay for your total since that would be three total MQs.¬† You can counteract this by having a “filler” item in your purchase–something as cheap as you can possibly find.¬† If you bought the two candy bars, used two coupons and then bought a $0.20 pencil, you could use your Register Reward to pay the total.

Good filler items this week:

Holiday gift bags, $0.12 each.
Mandarin oranges or mushrooms, $0.39 each.
Christmas candy, $0.39 each.
Christmas votive candles, $0.17 each.

I’ll post some purchase scenarios for Walgreens in the next day or two!
